The MyTron™ High-Specificity CTC Capture Kit combines MyTron™ Low Binding Streptavidin Magnetic Beads with biotinylated EpCAM antibody, using the high-affinity biotin–streptavidin bond to capture and magnetically separate circulating tumour cells.

Circulating tumor cells (CTCs), core biomarkers of “liquid biopsy”, are gaining increasing importance in prognostic evaluation and therapeutic response monitoring. Given the extreme rarity of CTCs in peripheral blood, capture methods must possess single-cell-level sensitivity alongside an extremely low leukocyte background.

The MyTron™ High-Specificity CTC Capture Kit employs rod-shaped superparamagnetic nanobeads with a particle size of <30 nm. The bead surface is conjugated with high-density streptavidin and coated with an anti-biofouling layer. Through streptavidin (SA)–biotin interaction (Kd ≈ 10⁻¹⁵ M), biotinylated anti-EpCAM monoclonal antibodies can be rapidly loaded onto the beads for liquid-phase capture of epithelial-origin CTCs in whole blood or diluted whole blood matrices.

The streptavidin-magnetic bead/biotinylated anti-EpCAM antibody platform exhibits reduced non-specific binding to leukocytes. Small-sized magnetic beads achieve higher capture efficiency for cells with low surface marker expression, while requiring a lower total bead dosage.

Featuring an ultra-high specific surface area and anti-biofouling coating, MyTron™ enables magnetic separation within <1 min, supporting rapid and gentle washing to maximally preserve the integrity and viability of rare CTCs. The entire workflow is compatible with both manual and automated operations.
